Unscheduled Dog Care

Unscheduled care refers to care provided when a dog remains at The Bark Barn beyond their scheduled departure appointment and alternate arrangements have not been made in advance.  If a dog is not picked up as scheduled, and no additional plans have been arranged, the stay will be considered unscheduled care.  Abandonment will be deemed to occur on the seventh day following the original scheduled pickup date.

By leaving your dog in our care, you acknowledge and agree to all The Bark Barn policies, including those related to dogs who are not picked up as scheduled.  In these situations, The Bark Barn will take the necessary steps to continue providing safe and appropriate care, even if additional food or supplies have not been provided.  Any expenses incurred during this unscheduled care period will be the responsibility of the owner.

If a dog is not picked up and no arrangements are made by the close of business on the seventh day after the original scheduled pickup date, ownership will transfer to The Bark Barn, and the dog will be re-homed in accordance with our selected rescue partner's guidelines.

To help prevent any issues, we kindly recommend sending one to two extra meals and any required medications in case of unexpected travel delays.  If your return plans change, please notify us as soon as possible so we can continue providing the best care for your dog.
