Our Policy on Spaying & Neutering

For the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care setting, we strongly encourage dogs to be spayed neutered whenever possible.  At this time, unaltered dogs are welcome to stay at The Bark Barn.

We understand that heat cycles can be unpredictable.  If a female dog goes into heat during her stay, we ask that she be picked up promptly by the owner or an approved emergency contact.  If you anticipate your dog may go into heat, please make arrangements in advance with someone who can safely and securely care for her.

Dogs in heat will be separated from other boarders for everyone's safety, and an additional fee of $15 per day will apply during this time.  Each situation is handled thoughtfully and with care.  While we take precautions, The Bark Barn is NOT responsible for any accidental pregnancy or resulting litter should a dog go into heat while in our care.
